How Not to Unfriend Someone But Keep Him Away from Your Facebook Life

There are occasions in life when you decide not to keep relations with a person for everyone’s good.

You may not want to make a fuss of your that decision and do not want to “Unfriend” the person from Facebook for a simple reason – there are hundreds of common friends who may notice it and may give unnecessary attention to the matter.

You do not want to attract such attention from your circle.

Or if you get a Facebook friend request from your Boss that you must accept just to keep in good books of him but you fear internally that he’ll get to know about what you “write” after having 3 glasses of beer on a Friday night.

You cannot “Unfriend” your boss. At least till the time you’re in that job!

Here’s How to Keep Friends On Facebook But Not In Real Life

Put them in the Facebook Restricted list.

When you put a friend in the Restricted list, she will be listed as your friend on Facebook but she will see your posts which are publicly available. It is similar to what your Facebook Followers see.

Here is how to do that.

Step 1: Go to the Facebook profile page of the person you want to add to your restricted list.

Step 2: Click on the “Friends” drop-down box that appears at the bottom right of their cover photo.

Step 3: Select the option “Add to another list.”

Step 4: Finally, click on the “Restricted” setting that appears on the next menu. It will put a checkmark sign next to it.

Voila, you have put the unwanted person to the restricted list!
